FC Barcelona, which has just sold Memphis Depay to Atlético Madrid, has managed to negotiate a preferred option for a Colchoneros player.
The entourage of Yannick Carrasco, passed by AS Monaco (2012-2015) and China (2018-2020), confirmed in the press an interest from FC Barcelona, during negotiations for the transfer, now official, from Memphis Depay. Constrained by financial fair play, the Catalan club could not carry out the operation for the 28-year-old player, who has been used a lot this season (24 games, 4 goals, 2 assists).
As confirmed by Xavi Hernandez in a press conference, the Belgian could come to Camp Nou in June 2023: “The club has kept a call option (on Yannick Carrasco, editor’s note). We will see if we are interested in raising it during the summer. Let’s see where we are and how the season went. If we can get stronger, so much the better, but we depend solely and exclusively on financial fair play. Right now things are tough.”
Kessié will not leave FC Barcelona
Ivorian midfielder Frank Kessié seemed at a crossroads this winter. The former Milanese was indeed cited with insistence in player exchange operations, the first to Inter Milan against the Croatian Marcelo Brozovic, targeted by the Catalan club; the second towards Chelsea, in exchange for the Moroccan Hakim Ziyech. Finally, the international selections should stay at Barça.
Indeed, according to Sport, the player will not go to Italy or England. Wishing to continue his season with FC Barcelona, Frank Kessié would have convinced his club. That said, the La Liga leader’s management and Frank Kessié’s agents will meet around a table at the end of this season to discuss the future of the Ivorian, under contract until 2026.
