Arianna Grace ACL Injury Update, Santino Marella on Grace Not Using His Name In WWE NXT

on

WWE NXT Superstar Arianna Grace is currently recovering from the torn ACL she suffered back in October.

The daughter of Santino Marella last wrestled at the October 4 NXT Level Up tapings, which aired on October 7. She teamed with Kiana James for a loss to Sol Ruca and Fallon Henley. James then defeated Thea Hail on the October 11 NXT, and Grace was not in her corner. Grace announced on October 13 that she was injured and needed surgery, which she underwent the following week.

In an update, Marella (Anthony Carelli) recently spoke to Fightful for an upcoming interview, and he revealed that Grace will likely be out of the ring for several more months. He said they are hopeful she will be able to wrestle in spring 2023.

Marella called the whole situation a waiting game. Grace noted in her injury announcement from October that she was facing a tough road ahead.

WWE hired Grace, real name Bianca Carelli, back in March of this year. Marella noted in this new interview that he is fine with his daughter not using his name in NXT, so that she’s able to carve her own path without drawing comparisons.

The former WWE Intercontinental Champion also said he’s now doing more wrestling than he has since he left WWE on May 6, 2016. However, while he’s still active in the ring, Marella said his wrestling days are behind him as far as a career goes. He’s open to working as a producer or color commentator, but he wants to raise his children instead of working in the ring and worrying about staying healthy.

For those who missed it, Grace made the following Instagram post earlier this month to update fans on her recovery:
