Andy Murray reveals he is targeting more Wimbledon titles

Andy Murray says he would like to play at the French Open at least one more time before he retires and also revealed he is aiming to win Wimbledon again.

Murray, who will be turning 36 in May, has made just one French Open appearance since 2017.

However, it should be noted that Murray didn’t really play much on clay in recent years.

“I would like to play, just purely because I don’t know if I’ll get another opportunity to play again. Whilst I feel fit and healthy, I would like to give it a go,” Murray said, per Eurosport.

Murray hopes to contend for Wimbledon titles

At Wimbledon, Murray is a three-time finalist and has two titles.

Also, Murray was a Wimbledon semifinalist on four other occasions.

“I also have ambitions of, you know, competing for Wimbledon titles and that sort of stuff, and I know that sitting here today that probably doesn’t sound realistic, but I do believe that that’s a possibility. I obviously want to do the right thing there. The experiences I have had when I have won Wimbledon has been in 2013 when I didn’t play the French Open and won, and 2016 I had my best French Open and won Wimbledon. It didn’t have an impact necessarily. It’s impossible to say what the right thing to do is, but obviously it’s a Grand Slam. I would like the opportunity to play,” Murray said.

Murray hasn’t had any notable Grand Slam runs since suffering a serious hip injury in 2017.

Last year, Murray wasn’t hiding that his big goal was to make a strong Wimbledon run.

In the end, Murray’s Wimbledon hopes were cut short early as the Briton suffered a second-round defeat to John Isner.

It remains to be seen if Murray can do better at The All England Club this year.
