As noted, actor and former WWE writer/producer Freddie Prinze Jr. appeared during last night’s WWE Backstage episode on FS1 for an interview and the “Promo School” segment with Xavier Woods.
During the promo battle against Woods, Prinze proposed an angle where he and Woods would join forces to take over the show. He took jabs at various people who would not be able to stop them, including Renee Young (because Freddie is more Renee Young than Renee Young) and Samoa Joe (because Joe is only on the show because he was bored), and not Punk (who works less for the company than WWE Champion Brock Lesnar).
Prinze said, “There’s one guy, CM Punk, and he works less for the company than Brock Lesnar.”
Punk has not tweeted a responded to the friendly jab as of this writing.
Punk has been gone from his WWE Backstage for several weeks but the analyst will be back on next Tuesday’s show. Below are a few shots from last night’s show with Prinze, and the plug for Punk’s return next week:
