Present at a press conference this Tuesday, on the eve of the OM-PSG Coupe de France match, Christophe Galtier spoke about his feelings before the match against OM, and about PSG’s month of February more generally, as well than on the rivalry between Gianluigi Donnarumma and Keylor Navas.

Costa Rican Keylor Navas left PSG on the last day of the transfer window, heading to the Premier League and Nottingham Forest. A relief, a priori, for the staff and Gianluigi Donnarumma, while the former Real Madrid goalkeeper had openly expressed his dissatisfaction with his lack of playing time.

According to the former ASSE coach, that said, we should not look at things from this angle: “No, (Donnarumma) didn’t need to be more liberated. Things were very clear between Gigio (Donnaruma), Keylor (Navas) and me on the hierarchy. (…) He (Keylor Navas) behaved very well during the first six months. He wanted to play, he wanted to leave to play, obviously he didn’t accept the situation. But his behavior has always been exemplary (…).”

Galtier confides in his stress

While journalist Daniel Riolo claimed that Christophe Galtier was “close to burnout”the French coach said he was “under pressure” since his arrival at PSG, when a journalist questioned him to find out if this month of February was the most exciting of his entire career: “I hadn’t thought of that, but yes, it’s true. I have already experienced compact periods, but when you are a PSG coach, there is an obligation of results. I’m not under pressure particularly in this month of February, I’ve been under pressure since I signed.

PSG, during this month of February, will face OM twice, in the Coupe de France, tomorrow evening, at the Vélodrome, then in L1, on February 26, still in Marseille. And in a week, the Ile-de-France club will play its round of 16 first leg of the Champions League against Bayern Munich. Big matches, where PSG and Christophe Galtier with him have no room for error.
